Before joining Yoganic Flow, I started to consciously think about what yoga meant to me and those around me. To start the process I went to Facebook and posted the question...
What do you think about yoga?
- I like yoga but mixed with other things.
- I enjoy Vinyasa but not the slow flow.
- It’s difficult but also relaxing.
- It gets me back to the universe.
- I know I got a good workout.
- Helps me feel better mentally and physically.
- Transports you to the now.
- I like the kind with the fruit on the bottom, especially peach.
Yoga means something different to each person. Even the funny response about yogurt, touches on the light hearted nature that yoga evokes. I’ve been practicing yoga for years now and I know
it’s something that I always come back to doing, a habit that my
mind and body crave. I never thought I would come to a point where I’d want to do something
beneficial for myself. No
distractions, nothing but me and my mat with my mind and my body. Each time different from the last. Some days more
challenging but each class teaching me something, bringing me to a greater sense of
awareness within myself and who I am. The simple question about yoga brought about a wide range of responses, unique
to each person. That is what is
truly beautiful about yoga, it is something that each person takes to
their own level. Reminding us to have no judgement, no
expectations.
