Lately I've been tossing and turning, not really allowing myself to relax. I've even been waking up in the middle of the night with my heart beating feeling anxious. My mind has been darting around from this thought to that. I've been practicing power yoga and not fully allowing myself to meditate and relax. Yoga and meditation have always been so helpful with my mental and physical well being that I was glad when I serendipitously saw a yoga nidra workshop was being offered at one of the local yoga studios. I quickly rearranged my schedule to attend, knowing that this was something that I needed to learn more about. My experience with Yoga Nidra has been limited, but always beneficial. Usually a few minutes at the end of a class before savasana. From what I can remember it was concentrating on each muscle tensing and releasing, allowing your mind and body to fully relax and moving into a very relaxed state.
I did a little reading up
In Need of Yoga Nidra
How it Works- Science of Yoga Nidra
The workshop is in a few hours, so stay tuned for the Part 2 of Yoga Nidra.
Yoga Nidra Workshop

I really liked the link. Daily shavasana is wonderful. It's hard to imagine a more relaxing pose! So, I am definitely going to try Yoga Nidra. I was sold after reading that it holistically addresses "our physiological, neurological, and subconscious needs."
